2605 - The life of Peter

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Angeliki Papadopoulou

To the other Peter

Peter did not play.
He was watching the others.
He helped them when they didn’t know how to play.
He was staring at the table
with the little horses.
He counted the steps
with the dice.
He caught the players’ hand
in order to show them.
He was talking about others.
He struggled with the others’ silence.
He was a child with special needs.
But first of all, he was a human
who loved the humans
even if the society
forced him to play.
Peter wasn’t playing,
he lived,
and so he died.
