Even though we all know that Armenia is the land of stone, rarely do we listen to its walls. Yet, without them, the churches would not exist. Even though the stone is dominant, the church is human. And it is this humanity that the genocide tried to eliminate, in vain.
Therefore, gazing at the walls of Armenia, we reflect on our own past. Because these walls in the space, also constiute bridges through time. It's a fact that water is rare in this land, which confronted the cataclysm. As if God wanted to protect it from a new flood.
It was therefore necessary, for blood to act as a replenishment for the precious water. But how should we see it now, if not by admiring the blood that flowed through the veins of the survivors! Only that these survivors as rescued ones, and descendants of the innocent, need a source themselves, a source of armenity.
We can study this armenity within the walls of Armenia. These walls were built in order to uphold the ceiling of the world. They are not closed, but painted. They are open to the world, not in order to illuminate the misery, but so that the human dignity would radiate.
How long do we stand in front of a wall? Without this apparent waste of time, we can not penetrate into this human treasure. We must follow the old colours in order to understand the colour of time. We must touch the stone in order to listen to the statue. Without the walls of Armenia, it is difficult to find the key to resistance, the only one able to defeat the Ottoman Empire.
Because armenity is above all a code. It is written in iron letters, so as not to forget the memory of the dragon. For this reason, it is wise to observe through the walls of Armenia, upright books. Because, how else could you be free, without standing upright ? They haven't knelt in front of the Turkish invader. They knew that, in order for them to make you kneel, you must actually kneel, because the trees die standing. Therefore, the walls of Armenia can not act otherwise, and this is the cause of their wounds.
But we must not be hesitant, because even the black pages of history are pages of history. While oblivion and indifference, aiming to genocide of the memory, deny history. However, this does not mean that it is lost. The walls of Armenia are actual bookmarks of history. And those bookmarks do not forget anything: neither the Armenian genocide, nor the war in Artsakh.
That is why the Ottomans, the Young Turks, the Kemalists and the Azeris, wound the walls of Armenia. They don't see in them anything more than an obstacle. These upstanding walls bother them, because they portray the humanity of armenity. Committing the Armenian genocide, they committed a crime against humanity. This is exactly why they are guilty. Only they escape, as per the principle, that a crime without punishment does not exist.
While the walls of Armenia is the evidence of this crime and that evidence can write the history even if it has been deliberately deleted from the executioners of humanity. It is, therefore necessary to see through the walls of Armenia, not a desperate lament, but a hopeless remembrance, been aware of the need, not to forget the future, as that is the aim of the criminals:
the future of humanity.
