3003 - The books’ resistance

N. Lygeros
Translated from the Greek by Angeliki Papadopoulou, Evi Charitidou

While we were writing the history books
with the gaze of the future
others were erasing the past
so that the present dominate.
But we did not give up
and all together and alone we lifted
the weight of the books
which could not forget.
Together with us we had all the dead
and they were writing for the future
that they would not live as humans
and then we understood why society
named this humaneness inhuman.
