            Sir,
            in the conversation we had yesterday
it was well understood, 1° that the railway
survey you desire to make between Vathy
and Cardorassy does not imply in any degree
any engagement on the part of the Principality
this lather remaining entirely free to accept or to
reject any proposal you shall be instate to make
and 2° that for such a work that is to say
as far as regards this survey and matters
connected with the execution of it the Samian
Admon does not accept any foreign or privi-
ledged immix{t}ion or interference.
